The Africa Regional Training Workshop on ‘Supporting countries to advance their National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process’ for Non-LDCs will take place from 17-19 October 2017, in Nairobi, Kenya.
 
The training workshop is being organized by the joint UN Environment-UNDP National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP), with financial support from the Special Climate Change Fund of the Global Environment Facility (GEF).
 
The objectives of the training workshop are to:
  1.  Improve the understanding of the NAPs process.
  2. Take stock of the existing guidance and tools and methods relevant to the NAPs so as to help countries develop roadmaps/ strategies for the NAPs
  3. Take stock of what countries are doing on advancing their respective NAP process.
  4. Exchange lessons learnt and experiences.
  5. Exchange information on the mechanisms and options for supporting NAPs.
 
The workshop will also highlight support available through the NAP-GSP and partners to support countries in advancing their NAP process.
The workshop will include participants from francophone and anglophone developing countries in Africa. The workshop will be held in English, with translation into French.
