Climate change in COMESA: How Ugandan farmers are fighting back

In Uganda, farmers in Kamuli, Kaliro, Buyende, Bugiri, Busia, Budaka, and Namutumba districts have benefitted from support from UNDP and the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries to take up climate-smart agricultural best practices.  Betty Tigawalana, a resident of Nalimawa, now earns three times her previous income from agriculture.

GCF, UNDP and WHO join forces to ramp up climate health support for developing countries

The Green Climate Fund (GCF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Health Organization (WHO) launched an ambitious new initiative that will ramp up support for developing countries to mitigate and respond to the impacts of climate change on health in 14 countries in Africa, Asia and Southeastern Europe.
 
The latest IPCC report highlights that climate change is a serious threat to human well-being and planetary health, and developing countries with weak health infrastructure are particularly vulnerable.
