IUCN (2011) Ecosystem-based Adaptation in Mountain Ecosystems: Challenges and Opportunities in Nepal, Peru and Uganda

This brief was commissioned by IUCN under the global Mountain EBA Programme and prepared by Ninni Ikkala. It discusses EbA opportunities and challenges in Nepal, Peru and Uganda. It provides an overview of climate change impacts; assesses drivers of vulnerability; presents existing and new approaches to EbA; assesses lessons learnt in ecosystem management and governance relevant to adaptation; and identifies opportunities for integrating EbA into policy.
