Event: SCALA Mid-Term Exchange Workshop 2023
Context
The FAO UNDP SCALA programme held its first mid-term exchange workshop from 3 to 5 October 2023 at FAO Headquarters in Rome. This event marked a pivotal juncture in the ongoing SCALA programme, which is now in its third year of implementation.
The workshop offered an opportunity for participants to reflect on progress made during the initial half of programme implementation, extract valuable lessons learned, and accelerate activities for the programme's remaining period.
It brought together Technical Specialists from FAO and UNDP country offices in all SCALA partner countries, FAO and UNDP global team members, and selected technical experts from FAO headquarters, fostering greater knowledge exchange among SCALA countries and promoting a shared vision for the future.
Objectives
The SCALA Mid-term Exchange Workshop is structured with the following key objectives:
Shared results, challenges, and advanced work planning were achieved by allowing participants to present their achievements, discuss challenges encountered, and plan for future actions.
Enhanced technicprogral capacities were achieved through peer-to-peer exchange, which strengthened technical competencies among the participants.
Development of consensus around lessons learned and shared vision for the next steps was achieved through collective discussions.
Teambuilding and Networking were facilitated, creating a conducive environment for collaboration.
Outcomes
Participants took stock of achievements and insights by reflecting on the programme's accomplishments from its third year of implementation.
Participants engaged with technical experts to troubleshoot implementation challenges and seek solutions.
The workshop facilitated the development of a joint understanding of lessons learned and a shared vision for the next steps in the SCALA programme.
