Min of Forests and Soil Cons & UNDP Nepal (2013) - Kurilo Value Chain Study

This study is part of a series of comprehensive value chain analyses carried out by the Department of Forestry (Ministry of Forest and Soil Conservation) and UNDP Nepal as part of the Mountain EbA Programme in Nepal. The study focuses on Kurilo, which belongs to the Liliaceae family. It is a perennial shrub found in sub-tropical regions in Nepal. Its root tubers and tender shoots are widely used for food, medicinal and commercial purpose. The Government of Nepal through MoFSC and DPR listed Kurilo as one amongst the 30 prioritised species for cultivation.
