CBA Jamaica - Local Voices: Interview - Feb 2012
On February 29, 2012, winners for the poster competition titled "Adapting to Climate Change: We are ready. Are you?" were selected. As today’s children will become tomorrow’s leaders, the objective of this event was to build the student population’s awareness on climate change adaptation. The CBA Project uses participatory and inclusivity approaches and works with all ages, groups and genders in efforts of building the adaptive capacity of communities to address climate change impacts. The competition was opened to two age cohorts, 8-13 and 14-19, who attend schools in the areas where CBA projects are implemented. These areas include Bunkers Hill Trelawny, the Portland Bight Area of Clarendon, Woodford and Cascade in Rural St. Andrew, Portland and Glengoffe in St. Catherine. Press Release is available for this event.

As a child, how can you help others to understand and to take steps to cope/adapt to climate change?: “I will encourage other children and others not to burn garbage as it pollutes the air and cause the climate to be affected and I would also encourage them to take care of the environment as it plays a big role in our survival”.
