Photo book | Climate Resilience: Voices from Viet Nam's coastal communities (2023)
In Viet Nam, coastal communities are on the front lines of climate change, enduring its harshest impacts. Led by the Government with support from the Green Climate Fund and UNDP, the project 'Improving Resilience of Vulnerable Coastal Communities to Climate Change in Viet Nam' has strengthened local resilience by constructing 4,000 storm- and flood-resilient homes and restoring 4,000 hectares of mangroves. These efforts provide natural protection against storm surges and create new economic opportunities for local communities. Additionally, enhanced access to climate and disaster data equips communities to better prepare for extreme weather.
This photo book captures the stories and images of individuals and communities whose lives have been transformed by the project, celebrating their strength and resilience in the face of a changing climate.
