Impact on the ground: NAPA 3 - Bhutan
The 'NAPA-III' project in Bhutan aims to contribute toward building farming communities' resilience and improving their livelihood.
It has benefited about 102,395 farmers across 12 districts and 38 gewogs. Some of the project's key achievements are completing 58 kilometres of six climate-resilient irrigation schemes, rehabilitation of 1,869 hectares of agricultural land through Sustainable Land Management (SLM) interventions and bringing 162,500 hectares of area under Sustainable Forest Management Practices (SFMP).
The NAPA III project is led by the Royal Government of Bhutan with technical support from UNDP Bhutan and funding from GEF-LDCF Global Environment Facility.
