Initiative to restore wetlands launched in Rukiga district | UBC TV | December 2023

Uganda's Rukiga district has launched a wetland restoration initiative. This is the third district in Kigezi Sub-region, in South Western Uganda to embrace the move after Rubanda and Kabale. The Government of Uganda with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) secured funding under the Green Climate Fund to support wetlands restoration across 24 districts and the Ministry of Water and Environment is spearheading the project's implementation.
