People of resilience: Pakistan
As the globe warms up due to cliamte change, the glaciers of Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan are melting at an incredibly fast pace, causing Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs). 3,000 glacial lakes have been formed due to the rising temperatures, out of which 33 are prone to GLOFs, which pose extreme danger to human lives and habitations; indiscriminately destroying homes, fields, livestock, and infrastructure.
