Isatu Kamara is the Town Chief of Katta in Moyamba District and among hundreds of businesswomen from six coastal communities in Sierra Leone which have received support under the UNDP-implemented GEF-funded project, 'Adapting to Climate Change-induced Coastal Risks Management in Sierra' (2018-2023).

She explains how the UNDP/GEF intervention has increased income in their communities through alternative livelihood opportunities and investment grants, promotion of savings through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), and through the construction of needed infrastructure to facilitate trade.
